At Worldly, we believe your travel memories belong to you and only you. This Privacy Policy explains how our iOS app handles your data—spoiler alert: we don't collect, store, or share any of your personal information on our servers because we don't have any servers.
The short version: Everything you add to Worldly stays on your iPhone. Period.
Worldly collects only the travel information you manually choose to add:
Important: We don't automatically track your location. You decide what to add and when to add it.
All your travel data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure data storage technologies (SwiftData/Core Data). This means:
If you delete the app, all your data is deleted with it (unless backed up through iCloud, which is managed entirely by Apple's iOS backup system—we have no access to this).
To improve Worldly and understand how users interact with the app, we use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect limited, anonymized usage data:
Important clarifications:
Analytics data is stored on Google's Firebase servers and is accessible only by us through the Firebase console. This data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Worldly integrates with the following third-party services:
We use Apple MapKit for:
We do not send any of your saved travel data to MapKit—only the search queries you type when looking for places. MapKit services are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Worldly offers premium map styles for purchase through Apple's In-App Purchase system. When you make a purchase, Apple processes the payment and may collect payment information according to Apple's Privacy Policy. We receive only anonymous transaction information (purchase confirmation) and do not have access to your payment details.
To be crystal clear, Worldly does NOT:
You have complete control over your data:
Since all data is stored locally on your device and we have no servers, exercising these rights is as simple as using the app's built-in features.
Your data is protected by your iPhone's built-in security features, including device encryption and your device passcode/biometric authentication. Since we don't transmit your data over the internet or store it on external servers, many common security risks simply don't apply to Worldly.
Worldly does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since all data is stored locally and we have no backend systems, we have no way of knowing the age of our users. Parents should supervise their children's use of the app as they would any other mobile application.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the App Store update notes. Your continued use of Worldly after changes means you accept the updated policy.
We're considering adding optional features in the future, such as automatic location tracking or photo import. If we add any features that change how we handle data, we'll update this Privacy Policy and clearly explain what's changing. Any such features will be opt-in, and you'll always have control over what data you share with the app.
